Below are two interactive graphics that show student demographics across Champaign County's school districts between 1999 and 2010.
Each number represents the percent of students by race.

Graph I
To use: Choose between the bubble chart, bar chart, or line graph from the top-right hand corner of the graphic. Each bubble, bar or line represents a different school district.
Change race group by using the menu on the left-hand side of the graphic.
For best viewing, set “color” to “unique colors” and size to “same size” and order to “alphabetical.”(more information below)
Press "play" to see the changes over time.
Definitions:
Order (the pull-down menu directly below the graph or the X-axis) means the order in which the school districts are displayed on the graph.
Choose between alphabetical or race. The simplest view is “alphabetical” because it keeps the school districts in the same place as the graph is played.
If chosen by race, the school districts are displayed in order of percentage of students of that race– from highest to lowest and will often change positions when the graph is played.
Color (the first pull-down menu on the right-hand side of the graph) means how each school district is displayed on the graph. Choose “same” to make all the school districts the same color or “unique” to color them each different. Choosing a race shades each school district based on the percentage of students of that race in each school district.
Size (the pull-down menu under the “color” option) again refers to how the school district is displayed on the graph, based on the percentage of students of that race in each school district. You can opt to make each one the same.
If using the bar graph, you have the option of selecting one or multiple school districts to label those of interest to compare or contrast using the “select” menu underneath the “size” menu
Graph II
To use: Slide the bar at the bottom of the graph from left to right to see demographic changes over time
