Carle's new dashboard is updated daily with statistics on COVID-19 for the Carle Health System.

There were 98 total COVID-19 patients in the Carle Health system on Nov. 19, with 70 of them at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Since March, a total of 80 COVID-19 patients have died in the Carle Health System and 511 have been discharged.

The positivity rate of people tested in the Carle health system for week ending Nov. 14 was 14.92%.

These are the kinds of facts the public can now get because of the recently opened web page, the Carle Health COVID Dashboard.

The dashboard provides daily COVID-19 statistics, including intensive care unit numbers, to the public from the entire Carle health care system, with the numbers broken down for particular facilities.

The statistics are updated by 11 a.m. each day.

Carle shares these trends “to inform our region of the reality we’re facing today,” according to the website. “As the region’s only Level 1 Trauma Center, we continue to meet our community’s healthcare needs whether it’s care for COVID, heart attack, stroke or trauma.”

In late September, the state testing site at Market Place mall stopped sending its tests to Carle’s in-house lab, but the lab still processes up to thousands of tests daily.

A Carle test can cost $52 or $175 depending on the test, and a patient must be symptomatic and covered by insurance. CU-CitizenAccess recently reported the accessibility of free or affordable testing has been a concern for local health leaders.

The Urbana-based health care foundation operates several hospitals in Illinois, including Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, Carle Eureka Hospital, Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney and Carle Hoopeston Regional Health Center.

The dashboard page also provides guidance on controlling the spread of the virus  and offers information on how to help Carle such as donating blood, giving to its COVID-19 support fund and sharing notes of gratitude on social media.
