Your gift will fund investigative and in-depth reporting by University of Illinois journalism students and their editors on important issues in Champaign, Urbana and other communities in Central Illinois.

Through its website and social networks, CU-CitizenAccess offers the opportunity for journalism students to learn to report accurately on issues that matter to all members of the community. The newsroom also serves as a platform for new and innovative journalism techniques and practices.

The newsroom run by Brant Houston, the Knight Chair of Investigative Reporting at the Journalism Department of the College of Media at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The newsroom began with funding from the Marajen Stevick Foundation, the University of Illinois and a matching grant from the John S. Knight and James L. Knight Foundation
